SOLUTION · MOBILE AND WEB APPLICATIONS

Applications your operation actually runs on.

We design, build, ship and then keep running the software an organisation depends on: the portal your customers log into, the system your staff work in all day, the payment route that has to settle correctly every time. Six of them are below, live, and you can open any of them.

Common challenges

Why organisations come to us for software

The same four situations, in almost every conversation.

The operation runs on spreadsheets and WhatsApp

It works until it does not. Nobody can tell you the current state of a job without asking a person, and when that person is out, the answer is not available at all.

The off-the-shelf system does not fit the business

You are paying a monthly fee to work around a product built for somebody else, and the workarounds have quietly become the process.

There is a prototype nobody can maintain

Something was built quickly, it proved the idea, and now no one will touch it because there are no tests, no documentation and no one left who wrote it.

Mobile was an afterthought

Most of your customers are on a phone on mobile data. If the application was designed on a desktop and squeezed down afterwards, they feel it immediately.

What good looks like

What you get instead

Software that is finished, in production and owned by you.

It runs in production, not in a demoDeployed, monitored, backed up, with a route to a person when something breaks.
Your staff can work in it all dayDesigned around the actual sequence of a working day rather than a database schema.
It works on a phone on mobile dataBuilt mobile-first, tested on real devices and real connections, not only in a desktop browser.
The code and the documentation are yoursRepository, environment notes and a component inventory handed over at the end of the build.
It connects to what you already usePayments, accounting, messaging, calendars and government portals, integrated rather than retyped by a person.
Personal data is handled properlyPurpose, access, retention and disclosure defined before collection, to the standard the Data Protection Act expects.
Our solution

Three kinds of application

Most engagements are one of these, and several become two over time.

Customer-facing platforms

The application your customers, members or clients sign into: accounts, requests, tracking, documents and payments, with a self-service route for the things they currently telephone you about.

  • Account, profile and role-based access
  • Requests, bookings and tracking
  • Documents, statements and receipts
  • Notifications that reach a person

Internal operating systems

The system your team works in: jobs, stages, assignments, approvals and the reporting that tells a manager where everything stands without anyone compiling it by hand.

  • Workflow with owners and due dates
  • Approvals and audit trail
  • Reporting from live data
  • Handoffs that do not depend on memory

Payments and integrations

The plumbing: taking money correctly, reconciling it, and moving data between the systems you already run so nobody rekeys it.

  • Card and digital payment acceptance
  • Webhook-verified reconciliation
  • Accounting and CRM integration
  • Government and third-party portals
Why trust NSDS

Applications we have built and run

Six live applications. Four were built for operating businesses and two are NSDS products we run ourselves. Open any of them and judge the work directly.

Every application here is live. Client applications are published with permission; the NSDS products are our own and are named as such.

Before you commit

The questions asked before a build is approved

What happens when the build ends

You receive the repository, the environment documentation and a component inventory. Support afterwards is a choice you make, not a dependency we design in.

What it costs to run

Hosting, third-party services and support are costed at proposal stage, not discovered later. A cheap build with an expensive tail is not a saving.

Whether it can be phased

Almost always. Most of these applications launched with the one workflow that was costing the most, and grew from there once it was earning its keep.

Who holds the data

You do. Hosting sits in an account in your organisation’s name where you want that, and access is defined and reviewable.

Get started

How a build starts

1
A working session, not a sales call

We walk the current process end to end and find where the time and the errors actually are.

2
A scoped proposal

What gets built first, what it costs to build and to run, how long it takes and what it should change. Where the requirement is not clear yet, an assessment comes first.

3
Build, ship, support

Delivered in stages you can see in the client portal, released to production, then supported on whatever level you choose.

What the consultation covers

Start with a conversation about your current operation. We will discuss what is not working, what you need to achieve, the systems you already use and any delivery constraints. The next step may be an assessment, a focused project or a phased implementation plan.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions about building software

Do you build native mobile apps or web apps?

Both, and we will tell you which one your requirement actually needs. A great deal of what gets requested as a native app is better served by a fast mobile-first web application that needs no install and no app store review. Where the requirement genuinely needs the device, offline use, push notifications or hardware, a native or hybrid build is the right answer.

Can you take over an application somebody else built?

Often, yes. We start with a technical review of the code, the hosting and the data, and give you an honest read on whether it is worth continuing or worth replacing. We have told clients to keep what they had.

How long does a first version take?

A focused first release is typically eight to sixteen weeks depending on the workflow, the integrations and how quickly decisions come back. The estimate is given against your actual scope, not a brochure.

Do we own the code?

Yes. The repository and the documentation transfer to you at handover, subject to the commercial terms being settled. During the build you follow progress in our client portal rather than in the repository.

Can it take payments in Jamaica?

Yes. We have built and run payment flows for Jamaican businesses, including our own Nexus Pay platform, and a payment is only ever treated as settled on a verified confirmation from the payment provider.

Will it meet the Data Protection Act?

Personal data is designed for from the start: purpose, lawful basis, access, retention and disclosure. Where an organisation needs the compliance record itself, the Jamaica Privacy Hub is built for exactly that.
