Accessibility in the work we deliver

The same standard applies to the websites and applications NSDS builds for clients, and accessibility criteria go into the acceptance criteria so the obligation is verifiable at handover.

For clients in Ontario, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act requires designated public sector organisations and organisations with 50 or more employees in Ontario to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, with live captions and pre-recorded audio description excepted. NSDS builds to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which meets that requirement, and members of the team have taken AODA training for government projects delivered in that market. NSDS is a supplier rather than a certifying body: the obligation under the Act remains the organisation’s own.
